Big Change From Small Change
Round It Up America is rallying America’s restaurants to feed the needs of the nation’s communities. It is a simple yet extraordinary program that enables restaurant customers paying with a credit card to round up their bill to the nearest dollar with that amount going to charitable causes chosen by the restaurant. To date, 15 participating restaurant companies representing 150 locations have raised $1.7 million for 42 charities. Learn how Texas restaurants can get involved.
Round It Up America Helps Restaurants and Guests Give to Charity
Thanks to Round It Up America® (RIUA), it’s easier than ever for restaurants and guests to give to charity. This non-profit organization enables diners to “round up” their credit card bill to the next dollar, automatically donating their spare change to a worthy cause. And small change really adds up. Take the first restaurant participant or “Mission Partner,” Yard House. This mid-sized restaurant chain started out with 27 locations that raised an average of $40 per outlet — $1,000 total — every day. In two-and-a-half years, Yard House collected $860,000 company-wide with 1.2 million guests rounding up their checks to benefit charities including food banks, homeless shelters, crisis relief centers and organizations that assist military troops and their families.
